As South County Filmmakers goes forward through the stages of making our next movie there will arise a need for Production Assistants in various capacities. All of the “behind the scenes” work assures that a well thought out production is accomplished.
Since we film locally (in Rhode Island) it makes sense that our Production crew is within driving distance.
Outlined below are the various Production Roles that are available.

Locations Scout identifies appropriate locations for filming to correspond with the scenes as defined by the script. Makes arrangements with town or property owners and, works with the director to create the on-site schedule. Set Decorator / Dresser the set decorator makes the decisions on what furnishings and other decorations or props are going to be used on set. This would also include food props made available during filming. Script Supervisor / Continuity the script supervisor works closely with the director by taking detailed notes concerning what has been shot, and notes any deviations from take to take, ensuring the consistency between scenes and shots, in both dialogue and visuals, including wardrobe. Wardrobe the person in charge makes decisions on which costumes actors will wear based on the script requirements and character portrayals. Costume designers create or choose various clothing patterns, colors, and accessories for each wardrobe used during production to be in sync with the “mood” or “tone”. The costume designer helps to organize, disperse and maintain all the costumes used by the cast. Hair Stylist this person is responsible for styling and maintaining the talent’s hair throughout filming. The hair stylist is usually equipped with all of the appropriate supplies needed for the hair styling process. The hair dresser works in conjunction with the make-up artist to attain the best possible look for the actors. Makeup Artist the makeup artist’s main task is to apply and create a variety of looks on the actors to create a look according to the director’s desires, usually inspired by the characterizations in the story. Craft Services provides cast and crew with snacks, drinks etc. and, sets up and maintains a station near production. The craft service person is given a budget prior to attaining all the refreshments. This should also include meals served during the filming. Business Management includes Fund Raising and Grant Writing. Works with the Treasurer of SCF to assure that the film can be produced within the funds available. Publicity responsible for getting media coverage of the film through relationships with journalists and critics. They create press packs, which usually include the film's synopsis, cast and crew credits, still shots etc.
